Summary:
Lecavalier Cellars is seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven Tasting Room Manager to join our new winery team.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive, results-driven individual with a passion for exceptional hospitality, wine, and outstanding sales results.
Our Tasting Room Manager plays a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for our customers.
We are looking for a person who possesses a combination of a critical eye for detail, proven sales performance, and a genuine ability to connect with guests and staff.
KEY
Responsibilities:
Directly supervise the tasting room staff and daily operations of the tasting room.
Work directly with the company stakeholders to generate sales and grow the company by increasing on-premise and DTC sales and by growing our club base.
Lead and develop a dynamic team, conduct hiring, mentor, and provide in-the-moment coaching.
Hire and train new staff as needed.
Ensure Tasting Room staff embody brand values and deliver exceptional guest service.
Handle staff scheduling and maintain visual excellence standards.
Oversee the development and implementation of the tasting room experience, with a focus on guests becoming repeat customers and club members.
Develop and implement additional guest experiences with the goal to educate, engage and excite.
Set sales goals for Tasting Room and DTC.
Analyze sales by product and make adjustments to tasting menus/promotions.
Maintain website products, information and events calendar.
Create event/promotion calendar to help meet sales goals.
i Oversee website sales, processing and shipping.
Monitor and communicate sales team performance, including goals, traffic, revenue, and more.
Drive profitability, manage costs, and seek revenue-boosting opportunities.
Manage discount policies, labor costs, inventory, and daily operations.
Manage inventory between winery and warehouse.
Procure supplies for winery and tasting room.
Maintain tasting room, grounds and warehouse.
Demonstrate top-tier guest service and sales behavior to set the standard.
Guest relations and opening/closing duties.
Maintain Tasting Room safe server program.
Provide continuous wine education to employees and customers MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP:
Work to ensure that all sales staff are properly trained on procedures including POS, sign up of wine club members and collecting customer information at the point of sale.
Train the staff to achieve daily sales goals and build customer loyalty.
Evaluate and train new hires and provide ongoing wine education for staff.
Nurture an atmosphere of teamwork and enthusiastic employee relations.
Fully support the winery's history, quality winemaking practices and role in the community and wine industry.
Extensive supervisory experience, ideally in winery tasting room or hospitality position.
Strong leadership to engage and build a tasting room team.
Excellent public speaking skills and the ability to tell our story to the public.
Responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, and reporting on key sales metrics.
Qualifications:
3 years as a winery Tasting Room Manager.
Minimum 5 years Hospitality focused role.
Strong leadership, employee engagement, and trust-building skills Deep knowledge of wine, food, and consumer insights Proficiency in staff management, scheduling, and creative program development Excellent decision-making and adaptability Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to efficiently use a computer and learn new programs quickly.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Previous experience with Commerce7 a plus.
